Panel Beating
FORMING TECHNOLOGIES
Panel beating is controlled stretching and compressing of sheet metal. Many techniques are used, including press braking, dishing, crimping, wheel forming (English wheeling) and jig chasing (hammerforming). These processes in conjunction with arc welding can be used to produce almost any profile in sheet metal. Panel beating is primarily used in automotive, aerospace and furniture industries for prototyping, pre-production and low volume production runs. It is used to produce the entire chassis and bodywork of cars.
